Blessed Savage Owner
My name is Marcos Carrasquillo and I have lived many different lives. I'm 34 years old and grew up in the suburbs of the San Fernando Valley located in Los Angeles, California. I was born to two New Yorkers which truthfully created a very confusing upbringing living in California. There was lots of love in my household, but I can honestly say it was a very untraditional upbringing to say the least.
Growing up I did whatever I could to escape reality starting off with girls, leading to skateboarding, and ending with drugs. I always excelled in school though I never gave any effort. My teachers would always say " he's so smart if he would just apply himself".
God has always been a big part of my life though I would not conform to societies views on religion. Not finding my place in the church led me to lots of religion as a teenager. By the time I was 14 I was hustling full time in the streets and the hustle was addicting, which later led to a drug addiction. My drug addiction led me to prison three times. Prison for me was a culture shock. I didn't feel connected to most other inmates, which was interesting when I came to find out later, I was no different. After three prison terms I decided I needed to make a change. That landed me in treatment leading me to the rooms of alcoholics anonymous where I discovered a lot about myself and where I flourished.
In working the twelve steps, I learned a lot of things. Character defects are assets if applied correctly. Another thing I learned though it had always been there was my passion for clothing. By embracing the passion, I founded a clothing line called Blessed Savage Clothing. I feel this was a gift from God. It is truly my passion… along with helping others not take the same road I did. We have been going strong for almost four years now and it is my road to redemption. I truly am grateful today. God gave me another chance and everything I do; I do my best to make a testament of his grace.
Thank you for taking the time out of your life to gain a little insight into mine.
GOD bless.
